Senior PostgreSQL Database Engineer, RDS (Amazon Web Services)

Team: Database Engineering — RDS & Aurora PostgreSQL

What makes this role different? This isn't a typical DBA role managing databases for specific customers. You're on the core engineering team building Postgres as a fully managed service — one of AWS's fastest-growing businesses. You work across the full product cycle: feature design, implementation, validation, & customer escalation.

What you'll do:
Drive feature enhancements & permanently resolve root causes
Be the voice of the customer — channel real-world learnings into the engineering process
Tackle complex database issues during critical escalations & teach best practices
Serve as a Postgres subject matter expert for dev teams, support, account teams, & customers
Engage with the open-source community via forums, conferences, & code contributions
Extend your expertise beyond PostgreSQL to other database engines
